♥ Get some nice huge and fluffy pillows, cuddle yourself up with a cozy blanket and get some rest. Mostly when we are sad, we lack sleep. It really helps to put things into perspective.
♥ Bake cupcakes all for yourself, with luscious topping, sparkly nonpareils and put some passion into it. After all you are making them for the cutest princess in the world: you.
♥ Get a manicure or get artsy with some nail-polish (the best tutorial here by Kaylah from the Dainty Squid)
♥ Turn on some sweet music and hola hoop. It´s not like doing real sport, but it´s so much fun! If you want to learn some tricks and go pro a bit more, check out Hoop City. (I´m there too and go by the name of flowernelly.)

♥ Dream of living at the beach. Listen to the sound of waves. Dive into A Beach Cottage. Life is divine.
♥ Watch Lost in Translation. Melancholia is so healthy sometimes.
♥ Get some artsy prints for your wall or make a happy collage on your pin board. I always print out inspirational pictures from random sites like ffffound, weheartit or pinterest.
♥ Learn to play the ukulele. Of all the instruments I think it is most rewarding as you can hear results very easily very soon. (I have terribly short fingers, so if you have bigger hands, you might also want to opt out for guitar). Making music does a lot for your soul.
♥ Make a list of things that you want to change. Do you want to re-organize your apartment? Do you want a different perspective in life? Do you want more friends? Try to find out why and add suggestions how you can put it into practise.
♥ Tell somebody else how gorgeous he or she is. By making somebody else´s day there´s always a good vibe coming back to you. Giving fills the heart more than taking.
♥ Get your hair done. On a sad day we don´t like ourselves. We think that we are ugly because or energy is low and so the inner critique has a louder voice than usual. It´s a good day to head out to your favorite hairdresser and get a cut or a new color or maybe just some highlights. Let somebody else do something good for you. I don´t trust hairdressers in general, but when I´m having a bad day, I can spend hours raiding the internet for haircuts that I like and then start cutting my own hair. It can take hours, but with some relaxing tunes on it is really enjoyable.
♥ Give yourself a massage.

♥ Put on some rad music and dance and jump around like there´s no tomorrow.
♥ Go to an aquarium and watch all those colorful fish swim around in silence.
♥ Take a walk in a park. Probably not a too crowded one. Collect colorful leaves and press them in a thick book. Glue them onto beautiful cardboard with decorative masking tape and hang them on your wall. I love autumn and this represents the season´s spirit so well.
♥ Ask to pet a strangers cute looking dog. (of course only if the dog acts cute as well!)
♥ Read some kick-ass articles on I Am That Girl and be proud to be a woman.
♥ Watch a whole season of Gilmore Girls. Preferably one of the first 3.

♥ Read the Oatmeal. Sarcasm is wonderful!
♥ Make some origami. (I have an octopus in my bathroom and I love it to pieces!)
♥ Drink lots of water or good tea right now. I bet you haven´t had enough water today, am I right? It will make your cells happy and your brain too. Sometimes we get moody just because we are thirsty, but we don´t notice.
♥ Go to a book store or a library and find something that you would like to learn, be it a language, a craft, an art or about gardening. Getting brainy will lift your mood up right away.
♥ Do easy yoga. Stretching that body and learn how to breath the right way. Even a little little will go a long way.
♥ Support local artists. Go to a small gallery and see if you can get a talk. It´s not always as pretentious as you may think!
♥ Join a knitting circle. You´ll find that there are wonderful chats and good cookies included (I´m planning one in Vienna, so if you are interested: hook me up!)
♥ Call your friends and ask if they would be in for a slumber party.
♥ Change your bedsheets. I loooove a freshly made bed! This will clear your mind and make your bed so much more comfortable and ready for fresh thoughts and dreams.
♥ De-clutter your apartment. Make space. Don´t dwell on old stuff. I´ve written diaries since I was 7 years old and I have thrown them all away when I thought it was time for them to go and to move on. I know my development in my heart, I don´t need paper for evidence.
♥ Listen to Lullatone.

♥ Make a fort and hide.
5 things I am grateful for today:
- braiding my hair. The more practice, the easier it gets.
- being able to listen to music at work. To some this might be completely normal, but I get to choose whatever I want and people still like it.
- having a suer-positive woman on the phone. She might have been in a hurry, but she was still so very friendly to me. The world needs more such people.
- cheddar cheese chips
- writing this list actually made me really happy. I love lists that help others.
Smiling is less work than frowning.
Hugs,
